VoucherSnap Privacy Policy

VoucherSnap respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how VoucherSnap handles information when you use the mobile application.

1. How VoucherSnap works

VoucherSnap is designed to process voucher information primarily on your device. We do not operate a central backend that collects your scanned voucher PINs, contact list, or scan history.

The app may interact with features on your device, such as the camera, phone dialer, contacts, SMS composer, and SIM information, only to provide the app's functions.

2. Information processed by the app

Camera data

VoucherSnap uses your camera to scan airtime vouchers. Text recognition is performed on your device using Google ML Kit. We do not upload your camera images or scanned photos to our own servers.

Google ML Kit

VoucherSnap uses Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition. Image processing for text recognition takes place locally on your device and is not sent by the app to our servers. Your use of Google technologies may still be subject to Google's own terms and privacy practices.

Voucher PINs

Extracted voucher PINs may be saved in a local history log on your device for your convenience. This history is stored locally on your phone and can be cleared by you at any time from within the app, where that option is available.

Phone and SIM information

VoucherSnap may access limited phone and SIM-related information, such as active SIM slots and carrier names, to help select the correct recharge action or line where supported by your device.

Contacts

If you use a feature such as "Send to Friend" or "Call Me Back," the app may ask for Contacts access only after you choose the Contacts option. VoucherSnap uses this access to show saved names and phone numbers so you can choose a recipient. We do not copy, store, sell, or upload your contact list to our servers.

VoucherSnap does not request access to your call log in the Google Play version of the app.

SMS and dialer actions

If you choose to share a voucher PIN or recharge using a USSD code, VoucherSnap may open your SMS app or phone dialer with information prefilled for your review and action.

3. Permissions we request

VoucherSnap may request the following permissions, depending on your device and the features you use:

• Camera - to scan printed vouchers.
• Phone - to help initiate recharge actions and identify available SIM or carrier information where supported.
• Contacts - to let you choose a recipient when using sharing or Call Me Back features.

VoucherSnap does not request SMS permission. If you share voucher information by text, the app opens your messaging app with the message prefilled for your review.

4. Data storage and retention

VoucherSnap stores scan history and related app data locally on your device. We do not store this information on our own remote servers.

Scan history is retained locally until you choose to clear it or uninstall the app. We do not impose an automatic expiry period on locally stored data.

If you uninstall the app, locally stored app data is generally removed by the Android system, although this can vary by device, backup settings, and Android version.

5. Your choices

Since app data is stored locally on your device, you are in control of that data. You may clear your scan history from within the app, clear app data through your device settings, or uninstall the app.

6. Third-party services

VoucherSnap uses Google ML Kit for on-device text recognition. Your use of features powered by Google ML Kit may also be subject to Google's own terms and privacy practices. We encourage you to review Google's Privacy Policy for more information.

VoucherSnap does not use analytics or crash reporting SDKs.

7. Data security

Because VoucherSnap stores data locally on your device, protecting that data depends in part on your device security, such as screen lock, encryption, and general device access controls. We do not have direct access to the data stored inside the app on your device.

8. Children's privacy

VoucherSnap is not directed to children under 13. We do not collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide notice within the app or through another appropriate method.
