Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the mangezi website at mangezi.xyz and the tools, applications and paid services offered through it, including LyricTool (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Who we are

The Services are operated by RIDGEMUK ENTERPRISE (Pty) Ltd (trading as mangezi), a private company registered in the Republic of South Africa under registration number 2025/020000/07, with its registered address at 19C Hamman Street, Lichtenburg, North West, 2740 ("we", "us", "our"). Our director is Richard Muketa. You can reach us at support@mangezi.xyz.

2. The Services

mangezi provides practical software tools for music, lyric and workflow tasks — including live-lyric comparison, African-language speech recognition (LyricTool), browser extensions and related utilities. Some tools are free; some are paid or require prepaid credit. Features may change, and tools may be added, modified or discontinued at any time.

3. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and able to enter a binding contract.
• Where an account is required, you are responsible for the accuracy of your details and for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any third party's rights (including copyright in lyrics or recordings);
• attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Services or their infrastructure;
• resell or commercially exploit the Services without our written permission; or
• upload malicious code or content that is illegal, infringing or harmful.

5. Fees, billing and payments

• Paid features are priced in South African Rand (ZAR) and the applicable price is shown before you pay.
• Card payments are processed by our payment provider, Paystack. We do not store your full card details.
• Some paid tools use a prepaid credit model: you may add credit to your account, and usage is deducted from that balance. A small card-verification charge may apply when you first add a card.
• You authorise us (through Paystack) to charge your saved payment method for the amounts you confirm at checkout, including credit top-ups.
• Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.

6. Third-party services

The Services rely on third parties — including Paystack (payments), and music-metadata sources such as Musixmatch and Deezer — each governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be subject to their terms.

7. Intellectual property

The Services, including their software, design and content, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services for their intended purpose. Lyrics, recordings and other third-party material remain the property of their respective owners.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of content you submit (such as audio, lyrics or links). You grant us a limited licence to process that content solely to provide the Services to you. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to submit it.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results (including lyric matches or transcriptions) will be accurate or complete. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 or other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss. Our total liability arising from the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Services unlawfully. You may stop using the Services at any time.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any consumer rights you cannot waive.
